Factor Market Distortion and Domestic Value Added Ratio of Chinese Firms’ Export:Facts and MechanismsChinese Full Text

Abstract: This paper uses Chinese industrial enterprises database and the Chinese customs trade database,calculates Chinese firms’ export domestic value added ratio( DVAR) from 2000 to 2006,and investigates the impacts of the degree of factor market distortion on Chinese firms’ export DVAR.The results robustly show that the factor market distortion significantly raise Chinese firms’ export DVAR,and this impacts has obvious heterogeneity of firms’ characteristics.In addition,the "relative price effect"which increases Chinese firms’ export DVAR caused by factor market distortion is greater than its adverse impact on Chinese firms’ export DVAR,namely"markup effect",which explains the facts and mechanisms of Chinese firms’ export DVAR upgrading from the perspective of factor market distortion.
