2024年6月6日,南开大学外国语学院张文忠教授应上海对外经贸大学语言教育与测评中心(CLEAR)邀请,为我院师生带来了一场主题为“赋权增能教育理路解读”的线上讲座。该场讲座由CLEAR中心主任蔡雨阳教授主持,整场报告吸引了来自上海外国语大学、西南交通大学、香港大学、北京教育科学研究院等多个高校的师生。
On June 6, 2024, Professor Zhang Wenzhong from the School of Foreign Studies at Nankai University delivered an online lecture entitled “Interpretation of RightOempower Approach to Education” at the invitation of the Center for Language Education and Assessment Research (CLEAR) at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE). The lecture was hosted by Professor Cai Yuyang, director of CLEAR. It attracted teachers and students from several universities, including Shanghai International Studies University, Southwest Jiaotong University, The University of Hong Kong, and Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences.
讲座伊始,蔡雨阳教授以及在场师生对张文忠教授表示热烈欢迎。在讲座的第一部分,张教授从儿童成长与发展的教育启示出发,深入阐述了儿童的角色、权利与责任,并强调了三者之间的基本统一且相互依存的关系。随后,张教授详细介绍了影响儿童能力发展的内因——儿童个体,以及外因——包括家庭、社会、学校等多方面的因素,并强调了教育作为外因是很重要的一个因素。儿童成长发展中权利角色责任应该相统一。进而阐释了儿童成长与“做、学、用”之间的关系。“做”代表儿童的实践活动,需要调动其相关知识、能力和意识;“学”则是将新信息与旧信息相结合,为顺利开展后续任务做好准备;“用”则是知识的激活和迁移。张教授认为“做、学、用”时空同步或异步,显性或隐性,即时或延时。
At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Cai and attendees expressed their welcome to Professor Zhang Wenzhong. Starting from the educational insights of children’s growth and development, Professor Zhang elaborated on the roles, rights, and responsibilities of children and highlighted the interdependent relationship among these three elements. Professor Zhang introduced the factors affecting children’s capabilities, including internal factors (e.g., children themselves) and external factors such as family, society, and school. He emphasized the crucial role of education as an external factor in this process and explained the influence of “doing, learning, and applying” on children’s growth and development. “Doing” represents the practical activities of children, which require the mobilization of their relevant knowledge, skills, and awareness; “learning” involves the association of new information with existing knowledge to prepare for subsequent tasks; and “applying” refers to the activation and transfer of knowledge. Professor Zhang believes that “doing, learning, and applying” are synchronous or asynchronous in time and space, explicit and implicit, immediate or delayed.
在讲座的第二部分,张教授介绍了赋权增能教育理路的核心主张,即角色、权利、责任统一;做、学、用合一;能力内生/内增。随后,张教授详细阐述了赋权增能教育的相关概念,包括学习、外语学习、角色、指导、活动、任务、权利、责任、能力等。
In the second part of the lecture, Professor Zhang provided a detailed introduction to the core propositions of the RightOempower Approach to Education, namely, the unification of roles, rights, and responsibilities; the integration of doing, learning, and applying; and the internal generation/improvement of capabilities. He explained related concepts of the RightOempower Approach to Education, including learning, foreign language learning, roles, guidance, activities, tasks, rights, responsibilities, and capabilities.
在讲座的第三部分,张教授结合《中国学生发展核心素养》的内容敏锐地指出,其在一定程度上忽视了当代外语学习者的痛点,为此,张教授提出将赋权增能结合到外语学习领域,并提出外语学习的“做、学、用”合一的主张。在解释赋权增能时,张教授详细介绍了“能”的四个向度:人格、能力、知识、素养。他强调,增“能”是一切教育工作的目标中心,其表现是“能”从无到有,由少而多,由弱至强。而“权”则指学生应有的权利,并提出了包括还权、分权、配权在内的多种“赋权”方式,并详细阐述了角色赋权、学习内容赋权、学习方式赋权、课堂组织赋权和学习评估赋权等多个维度的赋权。张教授进一步强调,增能始于赋权,赋权则意味着赋责,享受权利的同时必须承担相应的责任,并介绍了两个重要的赋权增能的实践原则:一是做学用三合一原则;二是兴趣、角色、语言做学用三三合一原则。最后,张教授不仅介绍了赋权增能在当前教育中的应用情况,还鼓励大家积极参与赋权增能实践,共同推动外语教育的创新与发展。
In the third part of the lecture, Professor Zhang pointed out insightfully, in combination with the content of “Key Competencies of Chinese Students’ Development,” that it neglected the challenges of contemporary foreign language learners. Therefore, Professor Zhang proposed to integrate empowerment and capability into foreign language learning and gave it a term as RightOempower Approach. He advocated the integration of “doing, learning, and applying” in foreign language learning. When explaining empowerment and capability, the lecturer introduced in detail the four dimensions of capability: personality, ability, knowledge, and literacy. He emphasized that enhancing “capability” is the central goal of all education work, which is manifested in the development of “capabilities” from nothing to something, from less to more, and from weak to strong. “Rights” refers to the rights that students should have, and he proposed various empowerment methods, including returning rights, decentralizing rights, and allocating rights. He elaborated on empowerment in multiple dimensions, including role empowerment, learning content empowerment, learning method empowerment, classroom organization empowerment, and learning assessment empowerment. Professor Zhang further highlighted that capability generation begins with empowerment, and empowerment represents responsibility. Rights must be accompanied by corresponding responsibilities. He also introduced two important practical principles of the RightOempower: the first is integrating doing, learning, and applying; the second is integrating interests, roles, and languages in doing, learning, and applying. Finally, Professor Zhang not only introduced the application ofthe RightOempower Approach to Education but also encouraged everyone to actively participate in it to promote the innovation and development of foreign language education.
张教授的精彩报告激发了在场师生的热烈讨论。其中,针对赋权增能教育理路视角下教师应如何对不同水平的学生进行测评是多数师生关心的问题,张教授回应道,针对不同水平阶段的学生,应该根据学生们的努力程度和进步幅度进行个性化评价。同时,他建议为不同水平的学生布置相同类型的任务,但具体内容应贴近学生的兴趣和实际。蔡雨阳教授对张教授的报告给予高度评价,认为其既具有理论深度又富有实践意义,并期待与张教授深入合作。
Professor Zhang’s excellent lecture sparked lively discussions among the attendees. Among them, a major concern for many teachers and students was how teachers should assess students of different levels from the perspective of the RightOempower Approach to Education. Professor Zhang responded that teachers could provide personalized evaluations based on the effort and progress of students at different levels. At the same time, he suggested assigning the same type of tasks to students of different levels, but the specific content should be tailored to students’ interests and practical needs. Professor Cai Yuyang believed that Professor Zhang’s RightOempower Approach to Education is theoretically profound and practically significant and expressed his desire for future collaboration.
最后,蔡雨阳教授代表CLEAR和国际商务外语学院对张文忠教授表达了由衷的感谢,表示张教授对赋权增能教育理路的深入解析使参会师生深受启发,获益良多。
