Former WTO Deputy Director-General Visits SUIBE

On April 20, Mr. Yi Xiaozhun, former deputy director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO) visited SUIBE for inspection and met withMr. Wang Rongming, president of the university.

Mr. Yi Xiaozhun fully recognized SUIBE's training infrastructure and its outstanding contributions to China’s accession to the WTO and to WTO-related studies. He pointed out that SUIBE is the only regional training partner in the mainland of China selected by the WTO, and hoped that the university would serve China’s national talents development strategy, offer more professionals for China’s participation in international economic and trade governance, and help make new ground in pursuing opening-up on all fronts.

Mr. Wang Rongming expressed his gratitude to Mr. Yi Xiaozhun for the latter’s continuous support in SUIBE’s academic research and talent cultivation. He stressed that SUIBE is now focusing on and will fully support the training of talents for international organizations. It will make every effort to refine and strengthen the construction of the WTO Asia-Pacific Training Center, so as to gradually build a multi-level talent training system for international organizations.
